Boys and girls, behold - the Franklin. What's a Franklin, you ask? It's an electronic dictionary and thesaurus. A long time ago, there was no internet. In fact, most people didn't have computers. And gadgets like this were invented to make things easier. Well, I can tell you that it was easier for me to look up the word in a book than type it out one letter at a time. My mother bought this for my brother who was something of a genius at the time. She wanted him to love words and have an expansive vocabulary. Now at 33 he does love words and he's a rather good writer. The Franklin even had games like hangman. I used to play against the machine. I often lost. My mother's dug it up again and it works!
